After much hype, the NEET Phase II exam was eventually conducted on 24th July 2016.
It is expected that almost 4.7 lakh candidates appeared for the examination and are now eagerly awaiting the answer key. The NEET II exam was conducted amidst strict security at examination centres across the nation.
NEET II Exam Analysis
The paper was largely on the lines of AIPMT conducted in May 2016 and was strictly in accordance to the NCERT syllabus.
Here is a subject-wise analysis of the NEET-II exam:
This section was calculative. Candidates stated that the concepts were tough and the calculations were lengthy. Overall, the paper comprised 22 questions from Class 11 and 23 from Class 12 syllabi.
Overall, the Physics section was on the tougher side. All concepts were not from NCERT.
Vidhushi, a candidate who appeared from the Delhi centre stated that 95% of the questions in Physics section were in accordance to the NCERT syllabi and the exam was easy.
The Chemistry section was more standard in comparison to the Phase I exam. Nonetheless, some questions were out of syllabi and beyond the scope of the NCERT books.
Numerical problems were easy and were direct formula-based. One of the questions had two correct options.
The paper did not cover the entire syllabi and some chapters such as Chemistry in Everyday Life & Environmental Chemistry were omitted.
Many candidates stated that the Chemistry section was difficult, particularly the organic portion.
The biology section was well balanced with equal emphasis to Class 11 and 12 syllabi. The section covered all the important chapters. The section comprised a mixed bag of simple, average and difficult questions. Some questions in this section were beyond the scope of the NCERT.
This section turned out to be the easiest of all and would not have troubled the candidates who came well-prepared.
