As per the latest reports, the scores of the NEET I will now be considered for admission to MBBS and BDS courses for the session 2016-17. Nonetheless, the scores of the NEET I will only be applicable in case when the candidates have been unable to appear in the NEET Phase II.
As per the statement of a senior HRD Minister, candidates who had appeared for both NEET I and NEET II cannot select the best of the two scores and in such cases, the scores of the NEET II would be applicable.

In an informal interaction with media, MHRD released a statement which stated that the scores of NEET I would be considered for admissions in case where the candidate has applied or registered for NEET II but had not paid the application fees. In such cases, the candidature of the candidate will not be considered and NEET I result would be applicable.
The statement further revealed that in case where a candidate has appeared in NEET I and has also successfully registered for NEET II but was unable to appear in NEET II, such cases would be subject to the decision of the Oversight Committee for consideration of their NEET I result.
The statement further added that other cases observed will also be subject to the decision of the Oversight Committee.
