AIPMT (All India Pre Medical Test) is a gateway examination for the admission to the graduation courses in India’s top most Medical Colleges. AIPMT is conducted every year for the admission to MBBS and BDS courses. CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education) is the body in charge for conducting of AIPMT. This examination is conducted generally in the month of May and the application procedure for the same commences tentatively in the end of November and is concluded in the month of January for the upcoming examination in May. Admit cards are issued by the CBSE tentatively in the month April.
AIPMT 2016 is scheduled to be conducted on 1st May 2016. Applicants can download their admit cards from April 1st, 2016 onward. Result for the AIPMT will be released later on June 5th, 2016.
AIPMT 2016 Exam Pattern
The pattern of examination paper for the AIPMT exam is as follows.
· The exam is in offline mode on OMR sheets in which answers are to be marked by pen.
· The questions are of multiple choice questions in nature in the examination.
· Exam paper consist 180 questions in total with 180 minutes of time awarded.

AIPMT 2016 Marking Scheme
· 4 marks are credited for every correct answer.
· 1 mark is deducted for every wrong answer.
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates applying for the examination are eligible only if they fulfil the below mentioned points.
Age Limit
· Candidate must be, at least, 17 years old, while applying, as on 31 December 2015 for AIPMT 2016.
· The age of the candidate must not be more than 25 years for general category students or 30 years for SC/ST/OBC students.
· Age limit is subject to change as per the different rules of each state.
Nationality
· Candidates belonging to Indian Nationality and also OC, are eligible to sit for the examination.
Education
· Candidates applying must have a valid class 10+2 (passed or appearing in 2016) or equivalent exam
· Physics, Chemistry, English and Biology must be the core subjects in the qualifying exam
· Additional 5th subject could be either Maths or any other qualifying subject
· Candidates have qualified or are appearing in 2016 for B.Sc final exam are also eligible provided that they must have any two of Biology, Physics or Chemistry in B.Sc subjects and English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and any other approved fifth subject in the B. Sc qualifying exam.
· Applicant must have secured at least 50% marks (General) in PCB or 45% (General PH) or 40% (SC/ST/OBC).
AIPMT 2016 Syllabus
AIPMT 2016 Admit Card
The admit card of AIPMT is issued online, on the official website. The issuance of the admit card for AIPMT 2016 will begin from 1 April 2016. Candidates must carry their AIMPT admit card with them on the day of the exam. They must also carry the performa which would have a passport size photograph of the candidate. Admit cards can be downloaded by submitting Registration Number and Date of Birth, and Security Pin.
AIPMT 2016 Result
Result will be declared online. Candidates will have to access their login by following the steps mentioned below.
· Go to the website and enter the registration number and password and then click on “login” button.
· Check and download the result
AIPMT 2016 Selection Mode
Scores attained in the examination will be the deciding factor for the selected of the candidates. Allocation of the seats to most deserving candidates will be done on the basis of merit list prepared and will be uploaded online. Selected candidates would be asked to mark choices of colleges and courses in the decreasing order of preference during the online counselling process.
AIPMT 2016 Counselling
The AIPMT 2016 Counselling will be conducted by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) and Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) for the admission to 15% All India Quota (AIQ) seats. The AIPMT 2016 Counselling will be conducted in the following steps-
1. Registration, Choice Filling & Locking of the colleges
2. Seat Allotment Process (in 3 Rounds)
3. Seat Allotment Result (in 3 Rounds)
4. Reporting at the Allotted Institutes with all the required Documents
The remaining vacant seats will be transferred under the State Quota.
