Father's disability inspired him to clear NEET

Here is the remarkable story of the Journey of Abhishek Babel from Kadwasa, a small village in the Neemuch district of Madhya Pradesh.

All Abhishek thought while preparing for the renowned NEET exam was his father and the people from his village.

Abhishek, whose father has a handicap in the leg and manages a small grocery store has managed to bag an AIR of 431 in the NEET exam which serves as the gateway for admission to Government and Private Medical and Dental Institutions across the country. Remarkably, he is the first person from Kadwasa who has managed to qualify the NEET exam.

Happiness has embraced him now but his life so far has been full of odds while being raised in a joint family.

Abhishek’s father, Mahaveer Kumar was struck with a handicap in his leg when he was 13. Further, his uncle, Rajesh Jain has also been physically disabled since the age of 3.

His grandfather had died at an early age owing to dearth of adequate healthcare facilities in the village leaving the family’s responsibility on his father and uncle.

Despite being demoralised, Abhishek considered his responsibility to become a Doctor.

His plan is to start a private practice in the village after becoming a Doctor to serve who cannot all those who are unable to afford treatment.

In an interview with Media, Abhishek stated that he decided to become a doctor after seeing the sufferings of his father and uncle owing to their disabilities. He added that he wants to treat all those people who are suffering once he becomes a Doctor.

Abhishek’s father stated that Abhishek initially studied in the village and was later on sent to his aunt’s place at Bigod in Bhiilwara district of Rajasthan where he studied till Class 5.

He returned to his village and enrolled in a Private school and managed to secure 85.17% marks in Class 10.

Later on, he shifted base to Kota where he qualified his Class 12 Board Exam with 80.2% marks this year.

He also enrolled in NEET Coaching at Allen Career Institute.

Abhishek secured AIR 831 in AIIMS Examination 2016 and secured 19th Rank in the State Merit List of Madhya Pradesh for NEET.

Abhished ecstatically stated that his father and uncle inspired him for studies and their motivation has paid off.

The youngster who has secured admission in the Grant Medical College in Mumbai has no qualms about pursuing education in the Hindi Medium.

He stated that language does not serve as a deterrent in achieving success and encouraged students from his village to pursue their education in the language in which they are comfortable.
