Even on such a short notice of replacement of AIPMT 2016 with NEET Phase 1 caused great state of confusion, stress and flutter among the aspirants of AIPMT seeking admission to Medical courses. Phase 1 of the examination waas conducted successfully on May 1st.

On taking the reviews from the candidates, we got some mixed reactions , “ I feel like I have no back up plan as my performance in today’s test was not up to the mark,” said Aastha, a candidate from Chandigarh. Aastha’s view was similar to that of many students who fear that they may lose not just admission possibilities but also money spent on applications of some other state- level medical entrance exams.

However, candidates did not find any change in the structure of examination pattern or on difficulty level of the exam. Physics and Chemistry were high on difficulty level while Biology was easy.

Physics was difficult but Biology saved the day:

With the high level of difficulty of Physics section, it turned out to be the ghost for major proportion of aspirants writing the exam. Physics section was packed up with numericals which were tricky and time consuming. Ashok said, “Physics was very tough for me. In fact, I lost most of the time trying to solve some questions in Physics”.

However candidates were not surprised with the difficult physics questions as they were already expecting similar level of questions as asked in the previous years’ AIPMT. Chetan who appeared second time said, “I was expecting physics to be more tough but I knew most of the questions as i was prepared for it”.

After physics, when questioned about Biology, almost similar response was received, mentioning the easiness of the section saved there paper. Sahil, a candidate from Delhi said, “ Biology was easy and I answered many questions very smooth”. Every candidate we enquired from gave the same response for biology.

Chemistry was the subject on which mixed responses were heard. Although Chemistry was easier than Physics yet few candidates found it to be difficult. Monika said, “For me chemistry was like a demon as it has been always, I faced difficulty in organic based questions”. On the other hand Rajesh from UP said, “Chemistry was easy for me questions from Organic chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Carbon Cycle and some other topics were asked.
