A lot of developments happened at the SC hearing regarding NEET on Friday, May 6th. Various states and universities presented their sides and arguments in favour of or against NEET.
Before the NEET-1 exam, CBSE texted every student and also put it up on their website that no candidate under any circumstances must miss the exam as they will not be allowed to appear for Phase 2 NEET.
But on 6th May, CBSE and MCI argued before the Supreme Court that candidates who had roll numbers for phase 1 NEET but missed their exam due to any reason be allowed to appear for Phase 2 on July 24th. This is in direct contradiction to what the CBSE had told candidates before NEET-1.
There are allegations and rumours that this is being done to help certain students who deliberately missed the exam on May 1st since they already knew CBSE would allow them to appear for Phase 2 with them getting extra 84 days of preparation.
NEET candidates, observers and teachers are said to be shocked by this new development. Allegations are that some affluent and well connected students missed their exams on May 1st because they already knew this was gonna happen.
Also there are some posts on the internet which claim that every PMT exam candidate's roll number can be used to guess the question paper set the candidate will get in the exam. This can be done by the following method.
Divide last 2 digits of your Roll number by 4
See what is the Remainder
1= your code is A=P=W
2= your code is B= Q=X
3= your code is C= R= Y
0= your code is D= S=Z
Prepladder can not verify whether this method is correct or not. But if it is, then leaking exams or rigging the results become very easy.
Hope CBSE/MCI and the SC clarify their stand regarding NEET on Monday, May 9th before the students erupt into protests because of all the unfairness and the confusion.
