About NDA

One who desires to get direct officer rank entrance and serve in the prestigious defence sectors of the country viz. Army, Air force and Navy, must clear the NDA examination conducted twice in a year. Post clearing this examination National Defence Academy and Naval Academy trains the candidates for Officer ranks in the defence sectors.

Union Public Service Commission which is the exam conducting body which is solely responsible for issuing guidelines and the final conduct of the NDA entrance examination. The examinations are conducted in April and September. April NDA examination is called the NDA & NA (I) and the September NDA examination is termed the NDA & NA (II). NDA exam is conducted as a national level written examination. NDA 1 is scheduled to be held on 17 April 2016. The NDA examination is conducted in two stages. First is the NDA written exam and the second stage is SSB interview only for the qualifying candidates.

Aspirants who have applied for NDA will be issued the e-admit card from the last week of March 2016 onwards.

The examination is conducted for around 375 seats at one time. Details of the seats are given below.

  • 208 seats in Army
  • 42 seats in Navy
  • 70 seats in Air Force
  • 55 seats in Naval Academy

         Total – 375 seats

 

UPSC NDA 2016- Expected Cut off

The Final UPSC NDA 2016 Cut-off will be made keeping in mind the performance of the candidate in the written examination, SSB interview and the medical test.

The candidates will be given entry to the NDA & NA on the basis of this final cut-off score. The SSB interview and the medical examination make 900 marks and hence the final merit list is made out of 1800 marks. 

UPSC will not publish any Cut-off marks for written examination. UPSC will just publish final cut-off marks aggregately of written exam plus interview Marks. UPSC will publish the list of Roll no of qualified candidates for Admission to Defence sectors of the National Defence Academy. All selection process will be completed under the ministry of Defence. Website within 15 days from the date of declaration of the final result (after concluding SSB Interviews)
